Before wedding photography became my full-time focus, I spent years living in Peru, guiding groups through the Andes and the Amazon. I co-founded Andean Photo Expeditions with a friend, and we worked with remote communities, documenting everyday life in places far from anything I’d known before.

Those years taught me how to read a moment quietly, how to connect with people from different cultures, and how to stay patient in unpredictable situations. I learned to adapt, to listen, and to see people clearly.

That experience still shapes how I work today. Whether I’m photographing a quiet family gathering in the Douro Valley or a destination wedding by the coast, I bring the same curiosity and calm I learned while guiding travelers through the mountains.

Travel gives me space to breathe. And being back home photographing weddings reminds me why I love this work. I’m lucky to have found a balance between the two.
